The Lighthouse ABA's School Services department is looking for a BCBA to join our team conducting assessments for students receiving DOE-funded, in-school ABA services. This is a highly visible, clinically rich role for a BCBA who wants to make a direct, measurable impact on students' access to services.
What You'll Do
- Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and skills assessments for students in school settings
- Travel to NYC schools and clients' homes for in-person observation and assessment sessions
- Serve as an expert witness, testifying at Impartial Hearings as needed
- Collaborate closely with parents, the School Services team, RBTs, and case managers to translate assessment findings into actionable recommendations
- Prepare clear, well-organized assessment reports suitable for DOE review and Impartial Hearing documentation
What We're Looking For
- Current BCBA certification (required)
- Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) in New York State (required)
- Based in, or able to reliably travel throughout, the NYC area
- Experience within the NYC DOE system - familiarity with DOE processes, clearances, and school-based service delivery strongly preferred
- Comfort and willingness to testify at Impartial Hearings
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write reports and testify clearly under scrutiny
